{Something Different... Sorry}

I know you all thought this might be the final showing of the kids rooms, but it is not.  I have been rearranging my room, and I got this fabulous new piece to go in there.  I just could not wait to show it off.  So hopefully this will inspire you some, and help hold you all over for the big reveal.  I know you are all loosing sleep over it.  hahaha...  Don't you wish I wanted to do something better with my time.  However, I don't; it's to much of my passion.

Here is a bit of the before:

shabby headboard

I just never felt completely finished in this room, but I am so satisfied now.  Here is the after:

Love

And we can't forget my favorite new piece.  Are you ready?  I could not pass this up.  It was something that I knew I would never find again.  Here it is:

MIrror

An antique mirror, oh my heck... I am in love.  Here is how it looks in the room.

I also found the shabby candlestick on the wall at an Antique store for $5.  It was so perfect that I could not pass it up.  The mirror really was a steal for a mere $70.  I usually don't spend this much, but it is one of those pieces.  I knew I wuold always regret passing it up.  It was originally $145.  Plus, my great friend talked me in to it.  I have been doing a few close friends hair, so I used my hair money.

Dresser

Here are a few more peaks at what is going on in this room.  I love how the mirror's play off each other.

Most of the furniture in this room was free.  I made my own headboard from a few shelves that my mom bought for my birthday, and some old FREE windows.

The rocking chair was my Grandparents, and Jonathan sanded and painted it for me.  I covered the seat with a 1/2 yard of fabric, and had some left over.

The dresser was made by my great grandfather.  It was my dads when he was a kid.  I just repainted it.

The night stand, I found at a yard sale for $2.  It just needed some paint.

The big white table, I found on the side of the road.  All it needed was some paint, and a little antiquing.

There you have it... the perfect beach cottage, for pretty cheap.  I wanted to be surrounded by memories of our life on Saba.

Thanks for looking.

I caught the decorator's bug...

Well, I guess you could say that I always have it.  It just went a way for a while.  That is why I have slacked at blogging some.  I have been doing some things in my room, and then doing new rooms for my kids.  I am not completely finished with the kids rooms.  However, I thought that I would give you all a

SNEAK PEAK!!

I hope this leaves you wanting more.  There are lots of pictures, but it is all the little Details.  The full scope of the rooms to come soon.

Boy's Room

Dream

My kids bunk beds were originally pine, but I wanted them black so I painted them.

I found these pictures at an Antique store for $3 the date on the back says 1913.  My friend Paige also took some of them.

I painted their room a gray color.  It is hard to tell in this photo.

I will explain more in detail all that I did when I finish them up.  I am hoping by mid-week I will have some photos of the whole scope.

Stella's Bed

I found this green pin at an Antique store, and could not pass it up.  It adds so much.

I found an old robe at an Antique store.  It was the perfect color of chenille fabric, and in great shape. I made the throw pillows, and this throw out of it.

I have since added pink beads to this lamp shade.  I have two of these lamps that I found for a steal at an antique store, $16 for both.

Homemade chandelier out of an old bird cage that I already had.  Christmas lights, a candle, and a lamp shade with a light kit.  I already had the shade, light kit and bird cage so this was CHEAP!!

Lots of glass knobs.  I used them to hang things, they are on Stella's Vanity.  Also on her curtain rod, and curtain tie backs.

This is the baby's Changing Table.  It is the same on that I have used for all the kids, but I painted the baskets white.  I am also working on making this cover for the pad out of two towels that I found at TJ Maxx for $4.

Well there you have it, a small preview.  I can't wait to show you the whole thing, and tell you about all the deals that I found.  It all just fell in to place with these two rooms.

I hope you enjoyed your sneak peak.  I can't wait to show you what other changes have been going on around here.

Decorating is so addicting, and yet so relaxing at the same time.

Midnight Snack...

It seems as though all in did in the beginning of this pregnancy was eat.  Now, I can hardly find the time.  It is 8:48 pm, and I have yet to have dinner.

I have so much energy right now that I can't find the time to eat.

WELL....

my tummy decided it didn't like that.

At midnight the other night, I had to get out of bed.  It was growling like crazy.

So... I got up and had a midnight snack.  No literally... it was Midnight on the nose.

I guess tonight I should try and have some dinner so my tummy can rest peacefully.

What do you think?

I know I know...

365 days of blogging ha ha ha...

Well... I have been busy.  I painted two rooms, bunk beds, a dresser, a desk, and a changing table; with help from my lovely friends Luanne and Paige.  I put rooms together, put Isaac in a big boy bed, and hung things on the walls; with help from my adoring husband.  (a peak of all my hard work to come soon.)

As for the right now, we just enjoyed a great week with my Sister Kristin and her husband Jared.  They are such a fun couple.  We had a great time.  Kristin and I are having babies 3 weeks apart.  This is the first cousin for my little ones on my side.  I am so happy to be sharing it with her.  On top of that, since she is having a boy she was able to take all of my boy bedding and clothes off my hands.  That emptied about 3 -4 rubber maid bins.  I love getting rid of things, especially when it is going to someone I love.  It will be so fun to see their little guy in things that Isaac, and possibly Jex wore.

Sisters

Here we are.  It is so not fair.  I am 25 1/2 weeks in this photo, and she is 22 1/2.  Ahhh...  Oh well, I have 3 already so I guess it is expected.  Doesn't she look great?

While they were here, we went to the zoo.  On like the hottest day ever.  So we didn't stay long.  I have to share this hilarious picture.  We went into a little cage full of birds.  I thought it was so neat to have them flying around, and they would even land on you.  Needless to say, my kids were not amused.

Birds

I hope they let go of some of their fears soon.  It seems like all of my kids have it.

We spent a lot of time just hanging out,  and played lots of games.  Jex was fascinated with Checkers.  We had yummy food, and Celebrated Jonathans birthday.  Happy Birthday Honey!!  We enjoyed a movie or two, and tried to show them the red neck way.

We also went out to Magic Springs on Saturday.  Bad Choice!! Raven Simone was in concert, and it turned out that there are a lot of Raven Simone fans in Arkansas.  It was so busy.  We had a nice time though.  Here are a few shots.

games

"Lets play a game while we wait in line."  Jex was always challenging Jared to a game.  Oh, and Stella loves having her picture taken.  She is always striking a pose.

Slide

Down the big water slide.  We have Jared, Jex, Stella(all covered by the splash of water, and Jonathan.  I am proud of the kids.  They tried the slide once with a little nudge from Jonathan, and now they love it.

horse

"Hi, Mommy."  "This is the only ride I can ride so I am going to stay on for a while, see ya later."

tube

No nap, and still going strong.

Isaac run splash

And these are down in the puddles again, but they just love splashing around.  I take anxiety medication now so I could really care less about getting messy, muddy, wet and dirty.  ...and I think that is a good thing.   Isaac water splash

We had such a great visit with the Warburtons.  We are so glad that you took the time to come and see us.  I love family.  We love you Jared and Kristin.  Oh, and Baby Warburton.  We can't wait to meet you little guy.

My first Photo Shoot

As you know, I got a knew camera recently.  My dear friend Paige asked me to shoot some pictures.  She is getting married in September and needed some photos for her video and announcement.  It was so fun!!  I was also so worried because I am still learning all the tricks of the trade.  I am happy how they turned out.  I only wish we had time for a few more.  About 10 minutes in to the photo shoot it started pouring.  I really mean pouring.  It was fun to get a few shots in the rain.  Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Skillz...

Jex overlooks course

I am not talking numb-chucking skillz...like Napoleon.  I am talking the real deal.

Our little Jex is really a good golfer.  I just have to take a moment to brag.

He has been at golf camp all week.  Today, at the end of the camp  they had a little ceremony. (which, I knew nothing about...Yes, mother of the year award once again.)  Anyhoo, this little champ got 2nd place for putting and 2nd place for driving in his age group.

I knew that hot August day almost six years ago when he got his first set of plastic clubs that we had a little pro on our hands.

Jex, I am so proud of you for working hard, and listening to your teachers.

We Love You !!

Not giving up yet

So... I was washing my face, when I realized that I hadn't posted anything for today.  AHHH.....Quick, Scramble, okay it is only 11:15p.m. What can I come up with?

Here is what my thoughts have consisted greatly of today.

FINALLY... I have a good haircut.  I have been thinking about it all day.  Every time I look in the mirror I think to myself, "I am really beginning to like this."

It is all thanks to Krysta.  Who also did a wonderful job on my color.

So now as I go to bed, I am going to be thankful for a great haircut after many bad ones.  It is amazing what a haircut can do for you.

What are you thankful for today?
