LOVE: 1 a (1): strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties
The other night at 1:30 am Stella got up because the bug bites on her legs were bothering her. I patiently helped her put some medicine on them. I hugged her tight, and then said, "Goodnight, I love you." She quickly responded, "I love you too." As I walked back to my bedroom half asleep I thought to myself, "how do they learn to say those words back?"
Our oldest two have been saying it as long as I can remember. The simplest way to express how much we care, and they learn it at such a young age. It is always wonderful to hear your children say that they love you. It is even better when you realize that those words are not something you forced them to say.
I hope the phrase "I love you" never tires in our home.

That phrase is one of the most anticipated ones for me. When we have a new baby, learning to speak, I can hardly wait to hear them say that for the first time!
I think it's great that you are going back public. You have a lot of good to share. I have been sticking my fingers in my ears, trying to ignore all of the bad in the world too. :)
It really is so true, I could not wait for my kids to say that to me and now they do all the time. Daxton does especially when he is in trouble he will say "but mom I love you" its super cute and I cant stay mad at him long when he is so sincere when he says it with little tears in his eyes.
Hey, Andrea, I'm glad you went public again too, purely selfish, it's way easier for me! ;) Hey, would you mind having someone else do a spot light on Errand of Angels. My life is a little bit crazy right now and I keep trying to get to it, but I just can't. Thanks!
Beautiful, Andrea.
That IS amazing how they somehow know to do that. It makes my heart swell every single time.
I can't wait to hear Brock say those words.
I've been struggling to leave a comment! Now it's back to NORMAL. I don't like being silenced!
Beckie says HI! I showed her your blog (she's very computer illiterate). We both drooled over your darling kids. She can't wait to read all your posts. I'm just glad I'm not blocked anymore!!!
I LOVE hearing "I love you" from my grandbabies. That too, is pure Heaven on Earth.
