{BOO HOO... or YAHOO?}

Jex's First Day...
Today was Jex's first day of School. I am officially a kindergarten mother. Can I have a nap now?
Today went great. Jex did wonderfully. He got right up and ready. He ate his breakfast like a champ, and we were out the door. On our way there, he said, "I have dinosaurs in my tummy." He said that he likes to say dinosaurs better then butterflies. I thought that was so sweet.
Once we got there we waited in the gym for the teacher to come and get him. Then we followed him to his class. I helped him get all settled, and then we left him there. I left my baby there for the whole day. I even paid for him to eat school lunch. He wanted to try that today. .. they were having mini corn dogs, and applesauce. This is right up his alley.

I didn't shed any tears. I am holding them all in. I cried some last night when we read, "The Kissing Hand." A wonderful book for school prepardness. If you haven't read this to your kids you should.

I am so happy for him. I can't wait to go pick him up. It is only 10:13... can't wait until 3:30.

Ahh, I posted a very similar theme just minutes ago! Funny, the emotions this wonderful day brings to us moms. He is a darling little boy. Hope those dinosaurs go away soon, that sounds very uncomfortable! ;) Tell him to have fun, what an adventure!

That is so exciting! My mom teaches kindergarten and tells me a lot of great stories of the kids. She LOVES that age. He is such a cute kid, and I am proud of you, I think I would have definately cried in front of everyone! I love that he said "dinosaurs"

Well, that brought tears to my eyes! I think I'm getting emotional knowing that I have a kindergartner too and we will be doing this on Monday...I'm really not ready, (as wipe away the tears right now).

He looked adorable, as always. I hope he loves it and has a wonderful year!

Oh, Andrea, the pictures are great. Ilove what you did to them. They will make this memory priceless. Jex is such a sharp guy--he will be way ahead of the class in no time...or at least until the "dinosaurs" disappear! (As for the homeschool bandwagon...it took 4 years to get ready! No rush!!) :-) Luv ya!

Jex, Hey big man, thanks for being such a good example of a big Kindergartener for Jake. You know he is starting Monday. We'll show Jake how big and brave you were and how much fun you had on your first day.

It will be fun to have you guys compare your stories--(heaven knows your mothers will be sharing with one another!)

Andrea, you have SUCH darling kiddos!! They have such cute, cute smiles! :) I am always floored with how fast time goes by when little ones are growing in your midst! My baby will be one in three months and I am dying! Soooo grateful for every day with her, but I just wish time would pass a little more slowly so I could enjoy each stage for just a little while longer! Anyways! Just a quick question...how do you make your pictures black and white or sepia, but make your kids in color? I have a picture like that on my blog header, but the photographer that took it did it. I have no idea how! Thanks for sharing all your talents!!

He is so cute. What a big boy. Deven in also in kindergarten and has to go all day. It is hard on them. We have been in school a week and he's cried everyday. He even threw up because he was so scared the other day. The dinasours in my tummy, how CUTE! Ok i have been meaning to ask if I can be put on your list to view your blog. I love seeing how your cute family is doing. Take care. Alli Johnson
